Butterflies on the Ridge Trail

In the first days of July, hikers on the Bay Area Ridge Trail at the Purisima Grand Loop can easily spot Variable Checkerspots, Skippers, Painted Ladies and other types of butterflies.

They are busy feeding on the flowers that still blossom on the sides of the trail.

This allows me to photograph them at leisure, nice!
